Assumptions
- Fortnightly and weekly repayments are worked out as their own schedules: 26 or 52 repayments a year at the annual rate ÷ 26 or ÷ 52. They are not the monthly repayment halved or quartered.
- Interest is charged each repayment period at the annual rate ÷ repayments per year. Lenders usually calculate interest daily and charge it monthly, so their repayment can differ by a few dollars.
- The interest rate stays the same for the whole term.
- Fees, offset accounts, redraw and extra repayments are not included.
- Figures are calculated unrounded and rounded to cents at the end. Lenders round each repayment, so totals can differ by a few cents per repayment.
- LVR is the loan amount divided by the lower of the valuation and the purchase price (whichever are given).
